Willard "Skip" Hunter Memorial Scholarship

The Willard “Skip” Hunter Memorial Scholarship has been established by family, friends, and business associates of Willard “Skip” Hunter to provide scholarship assistance to Western Colorado University students majoring in Business, Accounting, or Economics. This scholarship serves to honor Will Hunter, a 1953 Western graduate and native Coloradan, who worked in the field of public accounting for most of his professional adult life.

Will valued his education at Western and the opportunities it gave him. He was a hard worker from a humble background and he would be thrilled that his efforts over the years will now benefit other like-minded, hardworking students pursuing degrees at Western.

Over the years Skip was quick to share a few words about being successful: “I don’t give up easily.” Family and friends of Skip would like to pass on one bit of advice Skip would be providing if he was here: “don’t give up; keep working towards your goal.” Keep an eye on what is important, stay humble, and work hard.
