Alva Sloan Memorial Internship

Alva W. Sloan served in the field of accounting for thirty-six years as accountant, treasurer, director of finance, and controller. He served at Western which exceptionally high standards for seventeen years and was considered a friend, counselor, and financial advisory by thousands of students. Mr. Sloan will always be remembered for his unfailing good humor.

His mother was born in Gunnison, father attended Western, and his wife Mildred shared his years of service to the college, all finding a long and endearing tie to both Western and the Gunnison community.

Established by his friends and family, this scholarship serves to perpetuate his memory and to encourage young people to aspire to his high standard of performance.

ELIGIBILITY:
Must be a student in the school of Business
Preference will be given to those applicants who have earned at least 60 credits, who are Colorado residents, and who qualify for financial assistance.
