R & B Knigge Trail Running Scholarship

The R & B Knigge Trail Running Scholarship has been established by Regyn and Bryant Knigge to provide scholarship assistance to Western Colorado University students on the Mountain Sports Trail Running team. Trail running teaches an indescribable amount of life lessons. One in particular is the ability to keep moving forward in the face of seemingly insurmountable adversity. Life – just like trail running – can make you stumble and fall, beat you up and bring you to the point of quitting. But, while hitting rock bottom, there are only two choices; quit or keep moving forward. Athletes who join coach Eberly and the trail running team are prepared to take on the challenges of everyday life. Regyn and Bryant had the pleasure of being part of the team while in college and are humbled to give back and annually offer an athlete the opportunity to take part in this one-of-a-kind experience.

Applicants for the Scholarship:
A. Must be a member of the Mountain Sports Trail Running Team
B. Must embody the important qualities of leadership, inclusion, dedication, and perseverance. The ideal recipient pushes themselves to becoming a better person while also challenging themselves to complete difficult races
C. Past recipients are encouraged to reapply each year
D. Preference given to returning athletes
