The Paul and Dorothy Reid Scholarship in Teacher Education has been established by Paul and

Dorothy Reid to provide scholarship assistance to Western State students who desire to
become teachers, with the preference to those who would like to become coaches.

The Paul and Dorothy Reid Scholarship in Teacher Education has been established by Paul and Dorothy Reid to provide scholarship assistance to Western Colorado University students who desire to become teachers, with preference to those who would like to become coaches. Paul was a professor of Teacher Education at Western from 1970 to 1997, and Dorothy worked at the Western Colorado University Registrar’s Office for nine years.

This scholarship is more than simply a gift to provide financial aid. It is a message of encouragement that donors believe in you, your gifts and talents and your bright future. ELIGIBILITY
- Major: Must be fully admitted to the Teacher Education Program at the time of
selection of recipient
- Need: In the event of multiple applicants, financial need must be a factor in the
selection of the recipient
- Athletics: Must be an active participant in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference sport
- Year in School (after completion of current spring semester): Must be a full-time Junior
or Senior at Western Colorado University
- GPA: 3.0 or higher in the major area of study for a licensure as a teacher
- Other: Applicants must be planning to teach, with preference given to those who desire
to coach
