Delia Fay Haefeli Scholarship in K-12

Delia Haefeli, who graduated from Western in 1985, established the Delia Fay Haefeli Scholarship in K-12 Teacher Education. Delia is a Colorado native who graduated from West Grand High School in Kremmling, Colorado. After receiving her B.A. in Elementary Education from Western, she received her Master’s degree in Special Education in 1989 from the University of Northern Colorado. Delia was the first person in her family to attend and graduate from college. She has taught elementary and middle school for 33 years and is an ardent Boston Red Sox fan.

Delia states that “my time at Western was very special and important to me. It helped me develop as a person, educator, plus gain valuable worldly experiences. The people I encountered caused thought, supported my needs, and challenged me to become better. Without my time at Western I would not be the educator, community activist, or person I currently am. Due to Western’s impact I believe that it is my responsibility to pay forward the rewards I reaped in the form of a scholarship for future educators. I look forward to following the careers of the educators I assist.”
