Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society Scholarship

The Tri- Beta Biological honor Society Scholarship has been established by Western’s Gamma Chapter of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society to provide scholarship assistance to Western Colorado University students. This scholarship serves to reward and encourage students in the Biological Sciences who endeavor to stretch their learning beyond the classroom and beyond themselves. Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society seeks not only to encourage scholarly attainment in the field of biology but also to cultivate intellectual interest in the natural sciences and to promote a better appreciation of the value of biological study.

This honor Society charges its members with a three-fold responsibility: 1) to promote scholarship in the biological sciences, 2) to further the dissemination of biological knowledge, and 3) to encourage biological research.

To these ends, the Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society Scholarship serves to assist students in their pursuit of personal and institutional learning in the field of Biology.

ELIGIBILITY:
A. Must be an active, enthusiastic, and engaged Associate or Regular Member of Western’s Gamma Chapter of the Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society
B. Must have at least 60 credit hours yet to be completed at Western or at least two years of course-work remaining before graduation from Western.
C. This scholarship is intended for a newer student member of Western’s Gamma Chapter of Tri-Beta who has demonstrated leadership and a genuine desire to uphold the mission of the Tri-Beta Biological Honor Society. This new student member is one who has set an example for other members for continuing Tri-Beta’s mission, contributing to the long-term health of the Gamma Chapter, and evolving new ways for this organization to enhance opportunities for students in Western’s Biology program.
D. Applicant must submit a copy of the Tri-Beta Membership Application or other proof of membership’
E. Applicant must also submit a short summary of actions they have taken as a member of the Gamma Chapter to achieve the goals referenced above
