Pre-Health Scholarship
The Pre-Health Scholarship has been established by Mr. and Mrs. Erich and Beth Ferchau to provide scholarship assistance to WCU students. This scholarship serves their desire to contribute to the success of pre-health students at Western.
Applicants for this scholarship:
- Must be an incoming freshman that has a clearly defined interest in pursuing a profession within healthcare. Fields of interest may include, but are not limited to, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant, registered dietitian nutritionist, etc.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (non-weighted)
- This scholarship is open to all who meet the above requirements, but preference will be given to: (1) students familiar with the experience of marginalized populations and have demonstrated commitment to the advancement of those populations in healthcare, (2) first generation students, (3) students with financial need
Scholarships will be awarded $2,500 per year for up to 4 years. There are requirements that scholarship awardees must fulfill in order to maintain their scholarship. Renewal eligibility is outlined in the original letter of agreement for the Pre-Health Scholarship and will be clearly communicated to the scholarship recipient before the award is finalized.
