Gary Christopher Memorial Geology Scholarship

The Gary Christopher Memorial Geology Scholarship has been established by Cynda Wright, Thomas Wright, Martin Wright, Susan vonFinckenstein, and Mary Anne Wright to provide scholarship assistance to Western Colorado University students. This scholarship serves to honor Gary Christopher, 1967 Western State College alumni with a degree in Geology. Gary Christopher loved rocks, had a lifelong passion for mining, and spent a majority of his lifetime in the West Elk Mountains and surrounding areas mining gold, silver, lapis and uranium to name only a few.

Applicants for the Scholarship:
A. Must be a Geology major
B. Preference to a student with an interest in mining
