Donna Nicholas-Griesel Scholarship

The Donna Nicholas-Griesel Scholarship has been established by Donna Nicholas-Griesel to
provide scholarship assistance to Western Colorado University students.

Donna (’68) is a proud alumnus who graduated from Western Colorado University with a
Bachelor of Science in Biology. Donna went on to become a science teacher for middle and high
school students, beginning her teaching career in Guam after graduation. After moving back to
the States, Donna worked in both Wyoming and Utah before returning to Colorado to teach
and counsel in the Salida schools.

Donna has a passion for supporting women of science and hopes to make an impact on
Western Colorado University students who share her same passion for science through the Donna Nicholas-Griesel Scholarship.

Applicants for the scholarship:
a. Must be a major in the Natural and Environmental Sciences Department
b. Must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
