Nordic Skiing Dues Scholarship
The Nordic Skiing Dues Scholarship has been established by Hannah Cryder, 2024 alumni and 4-year member of the Mountain Sports Nordic Ski Team, to provide scholarship assistance to Western Colorado University students.
Hannah came to Western Colorado University partially because of the strong Mountain Sports program and the abundant opportunities the program provides for athletes. Mountain Sports teams require students to pay annual dues that assist with uniforms, travel, and entry fees, food, lodging and coaching expenses. At times, she found herself in financial need in order to make these annual dues payments. Now being in a position to give back, Hannah looks forward to assisting current and future athletes in their Nordic ski career at Western.
While at Western, Hannah was on the Trail Running Team for three years, and the Nordic Ski Team for four years. In that time, she achieved multiple all-American results at nationals, qualified for world university games, traveled with the team for races and camps, and built lifelong friendships. For that, she feels grateful. While at Western, Hannah also completed two bachelor degrees in Studio Art and Environmental Biology and Ecology. Hannah is grateful for her time competing for Western as a Nordic skier and as a trail runner and is excited to see the program growing and thriving, with great coaching, and ample opportunity for athletes to succeed. Hannah’s hope is that by providing for an athlete in need, the program can continue to grow, encouraging others to financially give back too.
