Roy Payte Scholarship

Roy Payte and Bob Little were lifelong friends since their days together at Western in the late 1940s. They did everything together. In retirement they laughed together, played together, and gave together. Roy saw the joy that Bob got from supporting Western students with scholarships, and making a gift through his estate to continue his charitable work even after he passed. After Bob passed in 2017, Roy made his own estate gift to support Western students. Roy followed Bob in death a year later. Two friends leaving a legacy of changed lives at Western that will continue for generations to come. We will celebrate Roy and Bob every year as we pass along their generous support to deserving students in their names and memories.

This scholarship fund provides financial assistance at the discretion of the WCU Foundation in unique or unforeseen situations.
